Gran Turismo 3 is a fantastic game, it has these licenses you will need to race. I had a lot of problems to get below Gran Turismo 3 license B-8, it is the last part of the first licenses in the game, and it seems to be one of the hardest in the entire game. I was able to get bronze and sliver, but I was unable to get the gold part of it, it took me many attempts to finally get it after about 3 weeks of trying:

Further about Gran Turismo 3, I tried to play this game in the PSX2 emulator on Linux, and it works well with most of the daytime races, but at the nighttime races and the Seattle circuit I experienced a very slow frame rate. After switching to the PSX2 version on Windows, the game runs flawlessly with no slowdowns at all.

I also experienced problems to get Gold in Gran Turismo 3 License A-2 but after many hours (and days) trying again from time to time I finally got it, but I forgot to save the video, so I’ll try to do it again and save the video here as I like to keep track of my journey in GT3 here.

1 hour later: I’m back, the this time it was much easier to get Gold (practice makes perfect), so I’m finally able to upload the video. Watching the video, it looks so easy, but for me it was not, as it’s a powerful car, and it slides out of the corner if you accelerate to hard in the bend.

The next problem I experienced was with the Test track in the Spider and Roadster competition, I could not win this race, as my Mazda MX-5 was too slow (maximum speed did not pass 151 km, and the other cars kept passing me. Then I learned about the Gran Turismo gear change settings option, as explained very well in this video:

Following this steps, I adjusted the gears for the Mazda MX-5 as follows:

And finally my speed increased to about 250 KM’ and I could win the race.

It’s another weekend, and some time to play this game again. Had another challenge with License A-4, it’s a tricky one as it is difficult to control the speed of the car going around and around, but after some time I managed to get Gold:
